It’s a mess, it’s hard to sort out…
School events:

It was a rare sunny day, and teaching went smoothly. Since the teachers no longer had to shoulder extra duties (draining water, paving roads, etc.), their spirits were noticeably better. At dinner, everyone naturally discussed tomorrow’s classes, with some teachers even preparing late into the night.

2. The sky cleared up, and everything seemed fine. The sun shone brightly above the school, and the teachers and students smiled more. Several more children attended class than usual, and the teaching effect was better than usual. The children’s voices were especially loud as they read aloud. In the afternoon, the school was not supposed to have formal classes, allowing students to study on their own and borrow books freely. Today, Ajia and Lin Yiwei took the initiative to tell stories to the children again, and the children were reluctant to leave even when get out of class was over.

3. Teacher Wang Wei from Mianzhu Renai School visited the school, bringing several boxes of mineral water and other supplies. To create a positive environment for the school, Wang Wei and Ajia visited Party Secretary Zhou of Qunxin Village.

4. Three volunteers left in the afternoon: Feng Ning, Zhao Tiezhu, and Li Ran. Qin Ming went to Chengdu for a brief adjustment. That evening, a volunteer from Beijing, Chen Chao, joined. He is a well-known musician (the creator of “Sing If You Want”). He will be responsible for music teaching at the school for a period of time.

At noon, all the teachers and the three departing volunteers had a farewell dinner. We added a few extra dishes to the meal, but no alcohol was allowed because we had classes in the afternoon. The farewell dinner was somewhat melancholic. These volunteers included students from Peking University and the China University of Petroleum, as well as highly paid professionals from real estate companies. Their willingness to come to the disaster area and work for the children fully embodied the spirit of compassion.

The star of the day was naturally the children’s favorite Feng Ning.

Don’t forget to be happy!

6. The Ren’ai School in Qunxin Village is getting better day by day. Today, they set up a tent to serve as a dedicated kitchen. Finally, the teachers don’t have to cook in the rain anymore, and now they have a sheltered place to eat. It’s clear that the teachers are deeply attached to the school. Two more volunteers joined over the weekend. This constant influx of new blood will surely make the school even more humane, full of love and composure.

There are joys, sorrows, difficulties, separations, new friends, old ones, and so many challenges that cannot be changed—for example, humidity remains a major problem. But thanks to the dedication and pure hearts of our volunteers, our actions embody two words: compassion.
