4 volumes of classic philosophy picture books on Genglin Culture:“The Collector of Thoughts,” “The Man Who Polishes Street Signs,” “The Painter, the City, and the Sea,” and “When Colors Are Forbidden”—just look at the titles and you know they’re not just any books. These four picture books from Germany attempt to seriously engage children in philosophical discussions. How do they do this? You can refer to Aoter’s father’s blog post:How to let children read philosophy books.

Marcel’s Selected Childhood Memories (2 volumes):I have watched two movies, “My Father’s Glory” and “My Mother’s Castle”, which are very good and memorable. It turns out that this is based on the autobiographical novel of Marcel Pagnol, who is not only a novelist, playwright, but also a famous veteran in the history of film. His “Childhood MemoirsThere are four volumes in total. The first two volumes are particularly exciting and popular. You may want to read them first:)

Century Three Kingdoms Series 2 Volumes:This set of Three Kingdoms books, imported from Taiwan’s Green Culture, features a creative layout. Above the text are black-and-white comic strips (illustrated by Zhong Mengshun), reminiscent of comic books. The cover and center inserts are by Robert Ingpen, an Australian illustrator who won the Hans Christian Andersen Award. The introduction below the text is written by Three Kingdoms expert Luo Jifu, and the overall plan and editing is by Hao Guangcai of Green Culture. While the introduction to the Three Kingdoms is largely based on official history, the book as a whole reads less like a historical document and more like a large-scale anime, even a bit like a game guide. The early sections on military strategies and battle formations especially remind me of the computer game “Romance of the Three Kingdoms.” This book will surely be a delight for both adults and children who love the Three Kingdoms.
