Walking on the mountain road after the rain
School events:
Late at night, a heavy downpour startled us. All three tents were submerged, each with varying degrees of water ingress, and the rain shelters were cracked. At 1:00 a.m., Instructors Dai and Zhang braved the rain to reinforce the shelters. At 2:30 a.m., Teacher Lin Yiwei made a round, clearing the drains and inspecting the library. Teacher Ajia made another round at 4:00 a.m. Although the teachers’ rest was interrupted, the library was fortunately unaffected, and no significant damage was sustained to supplies. Teacher morale remained high.

School after the rain
2. Touching stories unfold daily at the school, for devotion and compassion are powerful, and people are most receptive and responsive. After a night of heavy rain, Ajia, Teacher Yu, and Instructor Dai arrived at Niubi Village early in the morning to teach. They were concerned about how many students would show up, as the temporary school in Niubi Village was located in low-lying terrain and must have accumulated water. However, when they arrived, they found nearly forty students already neatly seated in the flooded makeshift tent, waiting to start class! During Ajia’s first class, he noticed a little girl coughing non-stop. She had a cold, yet she insisted on attending. Teacher Ajia urged her to go home and return to school after she recovered. The student, however, insisted on attending the recitation class and the first period, reluctantly leaving.
Today, Renai School welcomed a full-time music teacher, renowned musician Mr. Chen Chao, who has composed many well-known songs. Mr. Chen Chao began his music class by explaining some basic music fundamentals and then led the children in singing. The students were particularly enthusiastic about the music class, and all students joined together for the lesson, singing the national anthem in unison. Mr. Chen also led a rendition of “A Heart Full of Gratitude.” As the resonant and resonant singing filled the air above the school, the air seemed to be filled with fragrance.

4. In the morning, Mr. Lin Qitai from the Ren Ai Foundation led a team to visit the volunteers at the Ren Ai School in Qunxin Village and brought some fruits. Although there were not many things, the teachers all felt the warmth of being cared for.
At noon, Xiaoyi from Heart of China brought several volunteers to the school to request a three-person tent. Accommodation was once again a pressing issue. With two new volunteer teachers joining on Sunday, we were eager to find a suitable solution. However, we were confident that we could resolve the issue before they arrived.
6. In the afternoon, the interest and order of the reading class were encouraging. After several days of strengthening discipline, the children have generally adhered to the school schedule: arriving after 1:30 p.m. and leaving between 3:30 and 4:00 p.m.; lining up properly when borrowing books, remaining quiet during silent reading; and cooperating with the teacher’s reading and storytelling. Some children have already developed relatively good reading habits, and the school has fostered a positive reading atmosphere overall.

7. During the afternoon break, the teachers re-erected the awning, working until 9 p.m., when it was already dark. Last night’s leaking rain was terrible, and hopefully the re-erected awning can withstand even more wind and rain.
There are always new problems, but difficulties are quickly overcome. People are the foundation of everything, and the unity, quality, and compassion of the teachers at the school are the key to solving problems. This is perhaps the very meaning of Renai School’s existence.
