Thank you for organizing it! And thank you to the children who brought us such joy that day :) And to their tireless parents! The last story of the day, “Love You Forever,” was a bit long, but it was rare for the children to stay quiet and persevere until the end. That story was primarily for parents, but as a father, I particularly want to share a feeling: reading picture books isn’t just for children; we adults actually benefit the most. All the questions we want to ponder through our children’s experiences, all the words we want to share with them, are actually hidden in those wonderful books.Original address:Photos from the event “Teacher Ajia and Inspector Carrot came to Xinyue Picture Book Museum” on December 3, 2011author:Xinyue Picture Book Museum
Through a red mud wall, you see a lush green field. Two white clouds drift leisurely over a fairytale village, and a wild flower by the roadside speaks of its fragrance and tranquility… This is “Red Mud Village.”
Brothers Ajia and Carrot are voracious bookworms. Having worked in various professions, their passion for “doing something for children” ultimately led them to devote themselves to a life of fun and playful play with them. In 2000, they co-founded the children’s website “Red Mud Village — Online Fairy Tales for Children,” and worked hard to make it a favorite among Chinese children. In 2002, they co-founded the Red Mud Reading Club, actively promoting children’s literature and reading activities.
This Saturday, our picture book library’s activities were moved to the evening, and the children were filled with curiosity and questions. Why? Well, it was because two of our dearest friends—Teacher Ajia and Inspector Carrot—had come to our picture book library, both of whom love reading and especially enjoy spending time with children. Surrounded by the enthusiastic reading atmosphere of the children and their parents, the two teachers quickly forgot their travel hardships and physical discomfort, sharing the joy of reading with the children.
Teacher Ajia shared his own translation of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus with everyone using an interactive reading method that children like very much.http://www.parentsfamily.cn/images/smilies/default/smile.gif
