The Little Pig and the Big Bad Wolf series (6 volumes)
This is a hilarious series of books. The silly piglet is called Pledun, and the big bad wolf is called Mr. Wolf. The piglet is foolish, the wolf is cunning, but it’s always the wolf who gets into trouble. The stories don’t seem to have a particular purpose, just a series of creative jokes and farces. The creator, MacNaughton, is a very important contemporary British illustrator. As a child, he was a huge Disney fan, especially “Tom and Jerry.” Creating these books was a perfect way to satisfy his childhood addiction! However, for those with a keen interest in research, “Ah, Little Red Riding Hood” is also a perfect example of “postmodernism.” British scholar David Lewis even wrote a more than ten-page paper on it. Perhaps it’s not as simple as it seems.

Beibei Bear Series (Second Series, 20 Volumes)
Young readers who love Bei Bei Bear will be delighted. The next 20 volumes of the Chinese edition have just been released, bringing the Bei Bei Bear family in China to a remarkable 50. This series has been a huge hit abroad. While it’s a rather didactic picture book, the stories are still engaging and children love them. The Bei Bei Bear series is a perfect companion for both adults and children. While ostensibly meant to educate children, it’s often the adults who benefit most from the education. This is the most fascinating aspect of Bei Bei Bear.

Guli and Gula (Children’s Friends 2)
Half a century ago, Matsui Nao, the father of Japanese picture books, founded the “Children’s Friend” magazine, a monthly publication of paperback picture books. This magazine served as a platform for the birth of many world-class works while also benefiting the general public. One of its most classic works is “Guli and Guru,” created by a pair of sisters: Rieko Nakagawa, author of “Fufuenen,” and Yuriko Ōmura, a high school student at the time. Both went on to become top creators.
The third book in the “Friends of Children” series introduced and published by the “Loving Tree” picture book library has been released.“Magical Watercolor” by Lin Mingzi, which is also very good!

Zhang Qiusheng’s humorous and interesting fairy tale series (5 volumes)
Among veteran fairy tale writers, Zhang Qiusheng is undoubtedly the one who has devoted considerable effort to the style of Hans Christian Andersen, giving his tales a classic quality. He is also particularly adept at crafting short, poignant, and profound “palm-sized fairy tales,” a format he has seemingly become his signature. He has published numerous collections of fairy tales, and this is a newly published small collection, offering excellent value for money. :)

Chinese Fables (Youth Edition)
In recent years, Jiangsu Children’s Publishing House has compiled and published a number of youth editions of ancient humanities books, the overall quality of which is quite good. Recently, they have been reprinted in their entirety with a new look. “Chinese Fables (Juvenile Edition)” is one of the newer ones. The author, Qiao Zhongyan, is a prose writer. His 2007 work “Chinese Mythology” won the Zhao Shuli Children’s Literature Award. This book can be considered a sister volume to it.

Inspirational Selection of Newbery Medal Juvenile Fiction (4 volumes)
“Inspiration Selection” has become a new brand in children’s books, thanks to its series of imported and published classic picture books. The four books featured here are excellent young adult novels, winners of both the Newbery Gold and Silver Medals. Among them, the 2000 Gold Medal winner, “My Name is Bud, Not Buddy,” was previously published by Yilin Publishing (“Bud, Not Buddy”). The other three books were imported and published for the first time in recent years.

[Xiong Liang’s Works] Famous Writers’ Picture Book Series (4 volumes)
“The Metamorphosis,” “Don Quixote,” “The Hunger Artist,” and “A Seat at the Top”—these four literary masterpieces, illustrated in their distinctive style (much thicker than typical picture books), are undoubtedly a delight. The editors of this set have truly had a blast, as this is the first time they’ve been officially published in their entirety! Honestly, though, this isn’t a set of books that caters to children. While children can enjoy it, it’s probably more suited to adult enthusiasts. Given the limited chance of reprints, if you’re interested in collecting these books, it’s best to act soon. :)

Biography of Bodin, the “Father of Bebe Bear”
Strictly speaking, the title is a bit of a misnomer, as the creators of “Baby Bear” are Mr. and Mrs. Bodin, and this book is a joint autobiography written by them: it begins with interweaving stories of their respective births, childhoods, adolescence, and young adulthood, and then recounts their meeting, collaboration, love, marriage, and ultimately, the creation of the “Baby Bear” miracle. Together, they created over 200 “Baby Bear” books, and now, as grandparents, they include many stories about their beloved grandparents within the “Baby Bear” stories. This book is sure to be a fascinating read for “Baby Bear” fans, as well as readers eager to learn more about the background behind children’s and picture book creation.

Stories of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty (Volumes 1 and 2) (Lin Handa’s Popular History Classics)
I have recommended “Lin Handa’s Collection of Chinese Historical Stories” many times. What is the difference between this “Lin Handa’s Popular History Classics” and it?I have made a comparison, just for referenceSimply put, the former is a streamlined children’s edition, while the latter is a popular version suitable for both teenagers and adult readers. Mr. Lin Handa wrote about the Warring States Period from the Eastern Zhou Dynasty to the Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms Period, but unfortunately passed away prematurely. Of these works, I find the Warring States Period the most exciting, though this is purely a personal preference.
