School events:
1. Classes resumed at the Ren’ai School in Qunxin Village and Niubi Village, Hanwang Town, on June 17th. Class time is precious these days, as rain can occur at any time. Even the slightest bit of rain can make it difficult to hold up the tents, and getting the children to and from school becomes a challenge. June 17th remained dry until the evening, a truly blessed day. The school in Qunxin Village held regular classes in the morning, and in the afternoon, it was open for reading, storytelling, and interest classes, all with good order. In Niubi Village, afternoon interest classes are proving difficult to conduct, and everyone is working together to find a solution.

2. Classes on June 18th were basically normal. However, it rained heavily near noon, so one class was temporarily shortened for safety reasons.
3. On June 17th, supplies continued to arrive from all directions. Even fellow villagers sent us a batch of kitchen utensils and vegetables. Since we requested assistance on the night of June 15th, the supplies sent from all directions have made us suddenly wealthy, with a huge accumulation of rice, noodles, and vegetables!
4. On June 18, two bookshelves and two boxes of books were delivered to the Niubi Village School. At the same time, a volunteer was stationed at the temporary school site, so it is hoped that reading activities can be carried out in Niubi Village tomorrow, especially in the afternoon.
5. Three volunteers will be leaving tomorrow (June 19th). We have been in contact with them today and have now confirmed that three highly capable volunteers will be added between the 19th and 22nd so that future teaching can continue normally.
On June 17th and 18th, the school assigned four volunteers each afternoon to help a villager rebuild their home. This family, from whom we fetched water, lacked a male laborer and needed help. The four volunteers helped them clear rubble, set up a new tent, and relocate the gate.
On June 17th, Xiong Ying, the interim principal of Qunxin Village School, finally returned. That evening, we invited him and his wife to the school for a hearty dinner. We had a wonderful chat and their family conflict seemed to have temporarily subsided. Both husband and wife expressed their strong support for the school. We agreed to meet at their home for lunch later (due to the tight schedule) and to eat dinner on our own. After Xiong Ying’s return, all aspects of the school’s operations and communications resumed as normal. After this period, everyone’s mutual understanding and care for each other deepened.

8. On June 17th, the school erected a new, more spacious tent, which served as a comprehensive activity room, combining a reading room, storage, offices, and a temporary dining hall. On June 18th, students were invited to help with a small-scale relocation. The space is now being fully utilized.

9. On June 18th, we slightly adjusted class schedules based on the actual situation of local students. Morning classes will start earlier if possible; afternoon classes will begin at 2:00 PM and end at 3:30 PM, with students asked to leave the school at 4:00 PM. Currently, the volunteer teachers have too little rest time. After working all night and carrying out extensive physical labor, they are extremely tired. The children are happy to come to the school to study and play, which is a significant drain on everyone’s physical strength and energy. Therefore, we need to work harder to increase rest time for the teachers.
10. Based on the current overall work situation, we have roughly divided the work into the following categories: Ajia is responsible for overall and academic affairs; Xiaowen and Tiezhu are academic assistants; Instructor Dai is responsible for general affairs and, along with Instructor Zhang, is responsible for camp security; Instructor Zhang is responsible for team finances; Lin Yiwei is responsible for food and supplies management; Qin Ming is responsible for external relations; Feng Ning is responsible for cleaning; and Tiezhu and Xiaowen are responsible for carrying water. After two days of adjustment, all aspects of the work are proceeding smoothly.
11. On the evening of June 18, we held a small farewell dinner for the three volunteers who were leaving the next day. Although the food was simple, everyone was full of affection and had a great time. They agreed to meet again in Beijing in the future.

The three volunteers who have been working together for a few days will be leaving tomorrow, and everyone is reluctant to leave. It’s been a joy to be together on this special day, and we’ve been working together well in all aspects, getting to know each other better day by day.
