James Edward Marshall (1942\u20131992)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pic\u00adture book writer and illus\u00adtra\u00adtor born in San Anto\u00adnio, Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mar\u00adshall majored in music and received a schol\u00adar\u00adship to the New Eng\u00adland Con\u00adser\u00adva\u00adto\u00adry of Music. How\u00adev\u00ader, a hand injury inter\u00adrupt\u00aded his per\u00adform\u00ading career, lead\u00ading him to pur\u00adsue a career in edu\u00adca\u00adtion and lit\u00ader\u00ada\u00adture. His illus\u00adtra\u00adtions are influ\u00adenced by Mau\u00adrice Sendak and Edward Gorey, and he excels at com\u00adbin\u00ading ink lines with soft col\u00adors, cap\u00adtur\u00ading emo\u00adtion\u00adal ten\u00adsion in a min\u00adi\u00admal\u00adist style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
