You might be a lit\u00adtle surprised\u2014why a book about con\u00adstruc\u00adtion sites and con\u00adstruc\u00adtion vehi\u00adcles was released on Valen\u00adtine\u2019s Day? But if you\u2019ve ever had a child or two fas\u00adci\u00adnat\u00aded by cars, machin\u00adery, or con\u00adstruc\u00adtion sites, you\u2019ll under\u00adstand the obses\u00adsion that rivals the love between lovers. Fur\u00adther\u00admore, this new book is a sequel to the incred\u00adi\u00adbly pop\u00adu\u00adlar \u201cGood\u00adnight, Con\u00adstruc\u00adtion Trucks,\u201d pub\u00adlished in 2012. It reached num\u00adber one on the New York Times best\u00adseller list and has count\u00adless young fans. They\u2019ve been eager\u00adly await\u00ading more excit\u00ading sto\u00adries about the capa\u00adble and fun-lov\u00ading con\u00adstruc\u00adtion vehi\u00adcles on con\u00adstruc\u00adtion sites for five years. The sequel, \u201cAmaz\u00ading Con\u00adstruc\u00adtion Vehi\u00adcles,\u201d main\u00adtains this seam\u00adless fusion while also tak\u00ading on a new chap\u00adter. The new sto\u00adry begins with a new day, as the five pro\u00adtag\u00ado\u00adnists awak\u00aden to the ris\u00ading sun, seam\u00adless\u00adly con\u00adnect\u00ading with the pre\u00advi\u00adous book. Yes, the first five pro\u00adtag\u00ado\u00adnists were all referred to as \u201che.\u201d In the sequel, how\u00adev\u00ader, at least two of the new com\u00adpan\u00adions are referred to as \u201cshe\u201d: the skid steer loader and the flatbed trail\u00ader. Besides the front-end loader, the oth\u00ader two could also be female. This is a very wel\u00adcome change. After all, many young car enthu\u00adsi\u00adasts are girls, and even more par\u00adents read with their chil\u00addren than moth\u00aders. Why should the heroes of con\u00adstruc\u00adtion sites only be male?<\/p>\n

\nIn fact, author Sher\u00adri Dusky Ricoeur is a woman. How did she come up with the idea of writ\u00ading a book about con\u00adstruc\u00adtion vehi\u00adcles on con\u00adstruc\u00adtion sites? It all came down to her young son. A moth\u00ader of two boys, Sher\u00adri was already in her ear\u00adly for\u00adties when she wrote her debut chil\u00addren\u2019s book, \u201cGood\u00adnight, Con\u00adstruc\u00adtion Vehi\u00adcles.\u201d At the time, she was still a pro\u00adfes\u00adsion\u00adal design\u00ader. Her busy day\u00adtime sched\u00adule made her cher\u00adish her evenings with her two chil\u00addren. She always read sto\u00adries to them, read with them, or just play\u00adful\u00adly played with them. Her youngest son was incred\u00adi\u00adbly ener\u00adgetic, and every night before bed, he would toss and turn. He was also a huge car enthu\u00adsi\u00adast, espe\u00adcial\u00adly con\u00adstruc\u00adtion vehi\u00adcles. So, the bed\u00adtime rit\u00adu\u00adal depict\u00aded in \u201cGood\u00adnight, Moon\u201d became a rit\u00adu\u00adal of say\u00ading good\u00adbye to var\u00adi\u00adous con\u00adstruc\u00adtion dri\u00adve\u00adways. An idea struck her: Why not doc\u00adu\u00adment this \u201ceccen\u00adtric\u201d rit\u00adu\u00adal of her son\u2019s and turn it into a sto\u00adry? From that moment on, Sheri aspired to be a writer and poet, with Lee Bur\u00adton as her role mod\u00adel. Sheri also loved draw\u00ading from a young age. Her school\u00ading some\u00adtimes focused on art and some\u00adtimes lit\u00ader\u00ada\u00adture, but after start\u00ading work, she ini\u00adtial\u00adly pur\u00adsued a design career that required the inte\u00adgra\u00adtion of text and illus\u00adtra\u00adtion.
