For exam\u00adple, Miss Pot\u00adter\u2019s stun\u00adning paint\u00adings are so beloved, but her writ\u00ading skills are often over\u00adlooked. Read\u00aders might get the impres\u00adsion that Miss Pot\u00adter\u2019s books with few\u00ader words and more illus\u00adtra\u00adtions are bet\u00adter, while those with more words and few\u00ader illus\u00adtra\u00adtions are less appeal\u00ading (per\u00adhaps her com\u00admand of words was\u00adn\u2019t as strong). Espe\u00adcial\u00adly in her lat\u00ader years, she seems to have pre\u00adferred books with more words, but with less suc\u00adcess. How\u00adev\u00ader, a clear chronol\u00ado\u00adgy of her writ\u00ading might reveal a dif\u00adfer\u00adent impres\u00adsion. Among her ear\u00adli\u00adest works, \u201cThe Tai\u00adlor of Glouces\u00adter\u201d is also quite long and wide\u00adly con\u00adsid\u00adered a mas\u00adter\u00adpiece. Her lat\u00ader work, \u201cThe Tale of Mr. Todd,\u201d is the sec\u00adond-longest and a rec\u00adog\u00adnized mas\u00adter\u00adpiece in the UK. It was a child\u00adhood favorite of Emma Thomp\u00adson, the renowned actress and screen\u00adwriter (and author of three new Peter Rab\u00adbit sto\u00adries). Per\u00adson\u00adal\u00adly, I pre\u00adfer \u201cThe Tale of Brandy\u00adwine,\u201d which ranks third. Of course, every\u00adone has their own pref\u00ader\u00adences, and read\u00ading pref\u00ader\u00adences are entire\u00adly up to you. But the judg\u00adment on the facts them\u00adselves should still be clar\u00adi\u00adfied.
