Read aloud to your child<\/strong>
Ajia said that read\u00ading aloud to chil\u00addren is rec\u00adog\u00adnized as the sim\u00adplest and most effec\u00adtive way to cul\u00adti\u00advate chil\u00addren\u2019s read\u00ading habits. The \u201cloud\u201d here does not mean mak\u00ading a very high deci\u00adbel sound, but \u201cread\u00ading aloud.\u201d
Read\u00ading aloud to chil\u00addren is a long-stand\u00ading tra\u00addi\u00adtion in the West, and we can see these heart\u00adwarm\u00ading scenes in many films and tele\u00advi\u00adsion shows. Read\u00ading aloud to chil\u00addren isn\u2019t inher\u00adent\u00adly dif\u00adfi\u00adcult; the chal\u00adlenge lies in per\u00adsis\u00adtence. Ajia rec\u00adom\u00admends choos\u00ading a suit\u00adable time\u00adframe, read\u00ading for at least 20 min\u00adutes dai\u00adly, and enjoy\u00ading the process with your child. It\u2019s best to start as soon as the child is born, and if pos\u00adsi\u00adble, con\u00adtin\u00adue until the child grad\u00adu\u00adates from ele\u00admen\u00adtary school, or until they clear\u00adly express a desire to stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dad\u2019s involve\u00adment is impor\u00adtant<\/strong>
Con\u00adtrary to many peo\u00adple\u2019s expec\u00adta\u00adtions, Ajia said that chil\u00addren\u2019s ear\u00adly read\u00ading should not be just \u201cwom\u00aden\u2019s busi\u00adness\u201d and fathers should par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpate in par\u00adent-child read\u00ading activ\u00adi\u00adties as much as pos\u00adsi\u00adble.
Numer\u00adous sur\u00adveys have shown that in near\u00adly 90% of fam\u00adi\u00adlies in Chi\u00adna, moth\u00aders are respon\u00adsi\u00adble for read\u00ading to their chil\u00addren. In near\u00adly 90% of fam\u00adi\u00adlies that engage in par\u00adent-child read\u00ading activ\u00adi\u00adties, moth\u00aders also pri\u00admar\u00adi\u00adly read to their chil\u00addren. One notable con\u00adse\u00adquence is that in the fifth and sixth grades of ele\u00admen\u00adtary school, the vast major\u00adi\u00adty of stu\u00addents with obvi\u00adous dyslex\u00adia are boys! In mod\u00adern soci\u00adety, dyslex\u00adia is almost syn\u00adony\u00admous with learn\u00ading dis\u00adabil\u00adi\u00adties.
There\u00adfore, the Argen\u00adtinean League advis\u00ades fam\u00adi\u00adlies with boys to pay spe\u00adcial atten\u00adtion and that fathers should take more respon\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty for their chil\u00addren\u2019s read\u00ading. They can take their chil\u00addren to the library while play\u00ading ball with them, read to them, and set an exam\u00adple by read\u00ading in front of them. They can also buy their chil\u00addren a few books along with roller skates as a gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Read\u00ading is a shared expe\u00adri\u00adence<\/strong>
Dur\u00ading the lec\u00adture, A\u2011Jia stat\u00aded that read\u00ading isn\u2019t just for chil\u00addren. In today\u2019s mate\u00adri\u00adal\u00adly abun\u00addant world, the fast pace of life and increas\u00ading social bar\u00adri\u00aders can be sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant. Shar\u00ading expe\u00adri\u00adences, includ\u00ading read\u00ading togeth\u00ader, is one way to bridge these gaps. A\u2011Jia quot\u00aded, \u201cGive your child a big hug for 30 sec\u00adonds every day, lis\u00adten to them for 3 min\u00adutes, and spend 30 min\u00adutes doing activ\u00adi\u00adties with them (includ\u00ading read\u00ading). You\u2019ll find that your child is yours, not some\u00adone else\u2019s.\u201d A\u2011Jia sug\u00adgest\u00aded that replac\u00ading \u201cchild\u201d with \u201chus\u00adband\u201d or \u201cwife\u201d would be just as appro\u00adpri\u00adate, elic\u00adit\u00ading laugh\u00adter.
Final\u00adly, A\u2011Jia men\u00adtioned a poem in Amer\u00adi\u00adca that every\u00adone loves: \u201cYou may have unlim\u00adit\u00aded wealth, chests of jew\u00adels and cab\u00adi\u00adnets of gold, but you will nev\u00ader be rich\u00ader than me, because I have a moth\u00ader who reads to me.\u201d From these heart\u00adwarm\u00ading words, we can under\u00adstand how impor\u00adtant and mean\u00ading\u00adful it is to be a par\u00adent who reads to their child, and how chil\u00addren are proud to have par\u00adents who read to them. A\u2011Jia believes that no mat\u00adter how many ben\u00ade\u00adfits of read\u00ading are explained, noth\u00ading com\u00adpares to the feel\u00ading of a child being proud of their par\u00adents.
