She sighed and exclaimed, \u201cBloody!\u201d I laughed and said, \u201cThis is indeed a chil\u00addren\u2019s book, but a tru\u00adly unique and excep\u00adtion\u00adal one.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read\u00aders famil\u00adiar with Ander\u00adsen\u2019s fairy tales will rec\u00adog\u00adnize the orig\u00adi\u00adnal struc\u00adture of Miller\u2019s The Tin Sol\u00addier. How\u00adev\u00ader, that fairy\u00adtale love sto\u00adry becomes so unfa\u00admil\u00adiar in Miller\u2019s writ\u00ading. We see anoth\u00ader side of the world, one that is tense to the point of mad\u00adness, some\u00adtimes so filthy that it is unbear\u00adable to wit\u00adness\u2026 For\u00adtu\u00adnate\u00adly, it still returns to a fairy\u00adtale-like hap\u00adpy end\u00ading, albeit a slight\u00adly absurd one. \u2014 Chil\u00addren read it as a fairy tale, while adults read it as the absur\u00addi\u00adty of real\u00adi\u00adty!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This mas\u00adter illus\u00adtra\u00adtor, who has paint\u00aded \u201cBig Bear in the For\u00adest\u201d, \u201cGood\u00adbye, Lit\u00adtle Rab\u00adbit\u201d and \u201cThe Exca\u00adva\u00adtor Roars Year After Year \u2014 The Coun\u00adtry\u00adside Has Changed\u201d, always said that he just used his brush to objec\u00adtive\u00adly record the world, that\u2019s all, but his views are hid\u00adden in his per\u00adspec\u00adtive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this sense, I think York Miller is a mas\u00adter of crit\u00adi\u00adcal real\u00adism in pic\u00adture books.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u3010About the Painter\u3011&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u00f6rg M\u00fcller, born in Lau\u00adsanne, Switzer\u00adland in 1942, grad\u00adu\u00adat\u00aded from the School of Applied Arts in Biel, Zurich. His debut work, \u201cYear After Year, the Exca\u00adva\u00adtors Roar, the Coun\u00adtry\u00adside Trans\u00adforms,\u201d was pub\u00adlished in 1973 and received a tremen\u00addous response. His col\u00adlab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adtive pic\u00adture books with J\u00f6rg Stein\u00ader, such as \u201cThe Bear in the For\u00adest\u201d and \u201cGood\u00adbye, Lit\u00adtle Rab\u00adbit,\u201d have gar\u00adnered inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal acclaim.
