On June 14th, heavy rain caused sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant dam\u00adage to the camp, pri\u00admar\u00adi\u00adly due to the mud\u00addy ground, leak\u00ading vol\u00adun\u00adteers\u2019 tents, and the upper pad\u00addy fields threat\u00aden\u00ading to over\u00adflow and even sub\u00admerge the school. We worked togeth\u00ader to find a solu\u00adtion. Three vet\u00ader\u00adan vol\u00adun\u00adteers from the Cheng\u00addu Vol\u00adun\u00adteer Cen\u00adter arrived. Although we had pre\u00advi\u00adous\u00adly men\u00adtioned this, we were unable to arrange for them, and we made it clear that we could not accom\u00admo\u00addate them. How\u00adev\u00ader, these three vol\u00adun\u00adteers nonethe\u00adless joined in on the work to revamp the camp. They clear\u00adly pos\u00adsessed greater expe\u00adri\u00adence, and after half a day of work\u00ading in the rain, they tem\u00adporar\u00adi\u00adly alle\u00advi\u00adat\u00aded the three afore\u00admen\u00adtioned issues. How\u00adev\u00ader, the heavy rains over the next few days will undoubt\u00aded\u00adly cause fur\u00adther prob\u00adlems. There\u00adfore, we invit\u00aded two of these vol\u00adun\u00adteers to stay and join the team.

3. June 15th was a sun\u00adny morn\u00ading, but the bam\u00adboo for\u00adest base of Ren\u2019ai School in Qunx\u00adin Vil\u00adlage was extreme\u00adly mud\u00addy. We dis\u00adcussed with the local teacher, Mr. Xiong (tem\u00adpo\u00adrary prin\u00adci\u00adpal), and decid\u00aded to sus\u00adpend class\u00ades for a day to thor\u00adough\u00adly repair the base and see if it could be main\u00adtained regard\u00adless of weath\u00ader con\u00addi\u00adtions.

On the morn\u00ading of June 15th, Ajia, Lin Yiwei, and Zhao Tiezhu first went to the tem\u00adpo\u00adrary pri\u00adma\u00adry school in Niu\u00adbi Vil\u00adlage, Renai School, to see if class\u00ades could be held. They found it also mud\u00addy, but the ground there was open, mak\u00ading it eas\u00adi\u00ader to divert the water. They then asked three more vol\u00adun\u00adteers to go there and raise the class\u00adrooms to divert the water. After a morn\u00ading of hard work, the class\u00adrooms at that pri\u00adma\u00adry school were basi\u00adcal\u00adly acces\u00adsi\u00adble regard\u00adless of weath\u00ader.

At noon on June 15th, with the help of Teacher Xiong, we had locals bring in two trac\u00adtors of coal ash from a bridge about 5 kilo\u00adme\u00adters away. Then every\u00adone worked togeth\u00ader to pave the grounds with coal ash. Work\u00ading until almost 8 p.m., we final\u00adly cov\u00adered the entire grounds with a thick lay\u00ader of red coal ash. Renai School had become a red school!

At around 9 p.m. on June 15th, heavy rain fell again. This time, the ground at the base with\u00adstood the test, but the tar\u00adpau\u00adlin awning we had set up the day before leaked again, and the vol\u00adun\u00adteers\u2019 tents were once again exposed to the rain.
\nVol\u00adun\u00adteer com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adtion:
\nAjia and Lin Yiwei are from Bei\u00adjing; Zhao Tiezhu, Yu Xiaowen, and four oth\u00aders were rec\u00adom\u00admend\u00aded by the Cheng\u00addu Vol\u00adun\u00adteer Cen\u00adter; and Dai Xip\u00ading and Zhang Jun, both vet\u00ader\u00adans, came on their own (also from the Cheng\u00addu Vol\u00adun\u00adteer Cen\u00adter). All vol\u00adun\u00adteers have skills and can teach rel\u00ade\u00advant cours\u00ades, includ\u00ading two vet\u00ader\u00adans. We plan to invite them to help with intro\u00adduc\u00adto\u00adry mil\u00adi\u00adtary train\u00ading to strength\u00aden the chil\u00addren\u2019s sense of dis\u00adci\u00adpline and pro\u00advide appro\u00adpri\u00adate phys\u00adi\u00adcal exer\u00adcise class\u00ades. Ajia is cur\u00adrent\u00adly in charge.
\nUrgent\u00adly need\u00aded sup\u00adplies
\n1. We urgent\u00adly need col\u00adored strips of cloth or rain\u00adproof cloth that can real\u00adly block out the rain, oth\u00ader\u00adwise the vol\u00adun\u00adteer tents will not be able to with\u00adstand the rain;<\/p>\n

2. We urgent\u00adly need cook\u00ading uten\u00adsils and table\u00adware to facil\u00adi\u00adtate cook\u00ading at the base. Oth\u00ader\u00adwise, the vol\u00adun\u00adteers at the base will have to rely on min\u00ader\u00adal water and dry food to sur\u00advive.<\/p>\n

3. Three mois\u00adture-proof mats and four thin blan\u00adkets or sleep\u00ading bags are urgent\u00adly need\u00aded. The base is very cold at night, and sev\u00ader\u00adal vol\u00adun\u00adteers are not ful\u00adly equipped and can only hud\u00addle togeth\u00ader to keep warm.
