Today was a beau\u00adti\u00adful day. A ray of morn\u00ading light shone through the misty moun\u00adtains, and the sky cleared up! Good weath\u00ader brings good times. The chil\u00addren arrived ear\u00adly, and the num\u00adber of stu\u00addents increased dra\u00admat\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly. Even a few chil\u00addren from Niu\u00adbi Vil\u00adlage and chil\u00addren from Deyang who had come to vis\u00adit rel\u00ada\u00adtives in the vil\u00adlage joined the class. The two class\u00ades com\u00adbined had near\u00adly 60 chil\u00addren, and the vol\u00adun\u00adteers sud\u00adden\u00adly felt quite over\u00adwhelmed.<\/p>\n

2. Morn\u00ading read\u00ading began ear\u00adly, per\u00adhaps spurred on by the chil\u00addren\u2019s ear\u00adly arrival. Xue Shan\u00adbing even orga\u00adnized a Tang poet\u00adry recita\u00adtion com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adtion for the senior class, split\u00adting the two groups into two groups. The chil\u00addren imme\u00addi\u00adate\u00adly took to their wits, each bring\u00ading out their own unique skills, each com\u00adpet\u00ading back and forth with equal vic\u00adto\u00adries. The inspec\u00adtor also led the junior class in a vari\u00adety of activ\u00adi\u00adties, includ\u00ading recit\u00ading three num\u00adber poems in a row, with many chil\u00addren mas\u00adter\u00ading two at once. To moti\u00advate the chil\u00addren, the inspec\u00adtor promised to tell them a sto\u00adry if at least ten stu\u00addents could recite it. Soon, the inspec\u00adtor had no choice but to bring out a copy of \u201cFan\u00adtas\u00adtic Mr. Fox\u201d and begin the sto\u00adry.<\/p>\n

3. The first class was a mil\u00adi\u00adtary train\u00ading ses\u00adsion for both class\u00ades. The chil\u00addren seemed to enjoy it, hav\u00ading already formed up before the whis\u00adtle blew. The sec\u00adond half of the train\u00ading ses\u00adsion was a tug-of-war com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adtion, with the younger class fac\u00ading the old\u00ader class. Despite their young age, the younger class defeat\u00aded the old\u00ader class twice, and after switch\u00ading sides, the old\u00ader class emerged vic\u00adto\u00adri\u00adous. It turned out that one side of the field was slip\u00adpery, so who\u00adev\u00ader was on top lost, and the match was declared a draw.

4. In the sec\u00adond class, Ju Xing taught his\u00adto\u00adry to the senior class, while the junior class was taught draw\u00ading by Xue Shan\u00adbing. Ju Xing grad\u00adu\u00adal\u00adly got into the groove, and the senior class began to coop\u00ader\u00adate. For the junior class, Xue Shan\u00adbing took a gam\u00adble and let the chil\u00addren vote on which teacher to draw. Instruc\u00adtor Zhang fell for it and obe\u00addi\u00adent\u00adly served as the mod\u00adel for the entire class.<\/p>\n

5. The third peri\u00adod was for Qin Ming\u2019s small class and the inspec\u00adtor\u2019s class. Qin Ming was a mas\u00adter of Ander\u00adsen\u2019s fairy tales, and the chil\u00addren always had pas\u00adsages they had nev\u00ader heard before. The sec\u00adond half of the class con\u00adclud\u00aded with a Tang Dynasty poem, \u201cFarewell to Du Shao\u00adfu on His Assign\u00adment to Shuzhou.\u201d The inspec\u00adtor\u2019s class opened with \u201cI Choose Myself,\u201d explor\u00ading details in the pic\u00adtures and engag\u00ading in an explorato\u00adry dis\u00adcus\u00adsion. The sec\u00adond half of the class was \u201cThe Light in the Attic,\u201d where the chil\u00addren shared the absurd poem \u201cWho Am I and What Am I\u201d using role-play\u00ading.<\/p>\n

Before dis\u00admissal, the inspec\u00adtor announced the final week\u2019s sched\u00adule at Renai School. The chil\u00addren arrived ear\u00adly that after\u00adnoon and began check\u00ading out books in an order\u00adly fash\u00adion. The inspec\u00adtor shared basic knowl\u00adedge about Peking Opera facial make\u00adup with the chil\u00addren in the senior class, using the sto\u00adry of the Three King\u00addoms as a guide. They learned how to iden\u00adti\u00adfy the facial make\u00adup cor\u00adre\u00adspon\u00addences between char\u00adac\u00adters in \u201cPeking Opera Cats: Chang\u00adban\u00adpo.\u201d The inspec\u00adtor also showed the chil\u00addren a Peking Opera excerpt from the scene. At the inspec\u00adtor\u2019s sug\u00adges\u00adtion, sev\u00ader\u00adal boys in the senior class rehearsed a mod\u00adern ver\u00adsion of Chang\u00adban\u00adpo, com\u00adbin\u00ading Peking Opera excerpts with the sto\u00adry from the Chang\u00adban\u00adpo pic\u00adture book. The role of Xia\u00adhou Jie was nat\u00adu\u00adral\u00adly played by the wit\u00adty Yan Wen\u00adlong. Although Yan Wen\u00adlong was known for his mis\u00adchie\u00advous ways at school, he brought his four-year-old sis\u00adter to school that after\u00adnoon. His patience and care for his sis\u00adter tru\u00adly touched the inspec\u00adtor, demon\u00adstrat\u00ading how the vil\u00adlage chil\u00addren are tak\u00ading charge ear\u00adly on.<\/p>\n

7. The after\u00adnoon activ\u00adi\u00adties end\u00aded on time. Except for the inspec\u00adtor who stayed behind to write the school records and pre\u00adpare din\u00adner, the oth\u00ader chil\u00addren led the chil\u00addren in one direc\u00adtion and marched into the moun\u00adtains, car\u00adry\u00ading near\u00adly 100 fold\u00ading mos\u00adqui\u00adto nets and mos\u00adqui\u00adto coils on their shoul\u00adders and hands, and gave them to the vil\u00adlagers on the moun\u00adtain\u00adside.
